Description

WMIP 3.0 Flexible Innovation Fund dedicated for development and delivery of innovative collaborative interventions that address barriers to innovation in the West Midlands. Designed for piloting small-scale limited-term interventions that stimulate innovation activities that, in the longer term, demonstrate scalability at regional / national / international levels and will lead to sustained structural changes in the regional innovation ecosystem. The funding is not intended for continuous or 'business as usual' activities. The focus is on testing and improving a proof of concept, demonstrating scalability, and attracting co-investment as key objectives.

Criteria:

1. Novel Interventions. Projects must introduce new and innovative solutions and activities that address barriers to innovation. 2. Alignment with Regional Objectives. Project proposals must align with the West Midlands Plan for Growth and contribute to building Research, Development, and Innovation capacity within West Midlands regional clusters / industry sectors. 3. Collaboration. Projects should identify opportunities for collaboration within the West Midlands Innovation ecosystem. Applicants must engage with one or more WMIP Cluster Innovation Partners. Projects are expected to be completed within approximately 6 months; projects can have a shorter duration. The mandatory end date for WMIP 3.0 pilot projects is 31 January 2026.

Funding requested from WMIP cannot exceed £119,166 per project; a lesser amount can be requested.

Description

The Arts & Culture Impact Fund offers secured and unsecured finance between £150,000 and £1,000,000 with repayment term available until May 2032 and interest rates ranging between 3% and 8.5%. Provides affordable repayable finance that can be used, among other things, to acquire new assets, improve built infrastructure, develop new ventures or scale up existing revenue streams.

Criteria:

Your organisation’s core operations or activity should be based in the arts, culture and heritage. We can only work with organisations registered in the UK and primarily benefiting communities in the UK. Digital organisations will need to demonstrate their primary audiences are based in the UK. To be eligible, your organisation has to demonstrate that has a clear social mission.

Description

BFI Doc Society Funds support and nurture independent non-fiction films and immersive projects by UK filmmakers: prioritising expansive, director-led storytelling. Our funding is intended to be transformative and representative of all UK society. We back ambitious, independent feature documentary films and immersive projects intended for theatrical release, from both emerging talent and more established directors. ‘Immersive' projects can be produced and experienced using a range of technologies - including but not limited to VR, AR, MR and 360-degree experiences. 'Immersive' work may qualify as British either by demonstrating that they are: Film: intended for viewing by audiences who have purchased a ticket or pass to take part in that specific experience; or Game: contain a high level of player agency and decision making. We are open to a supporting a wide range of immersive formats including, but not limited to - Virtual Reality Augmented Reality 360-Degree audio visual works Location based experiences Interactive or Web based non-fiction work

Criteria:

Which fund you apply to depends on the Award amount that you are applying for and the stage that your project is at. There is no minimum length limitation on Immersive projects wishing to apply to the RAD or Features Fund. Grantees of the Made of Truth fund are expected to deliver their project within one year, whereas the RAD and Features Fund can support multi-year projects at higher levels of support.

Description

A grant initiative designed to support companies who work in moving image for storytelling, spanning film television, games, animation and immersive industries. With grants of up to £2,500, beneficiaries will be able to work with a consultant to build meaningful connections and create opportunities for business growth. The grants can be used to subsidise the cost of working with an expert to support companies’ specific goals including business planning and strategy as well as offering other specialist expertise, knowledge or contacts.

Criteria:

The programme will support registered SMEs working in ‘moving image’ for storytelling. We will consider companies working with on screen content that tells a story in order to entertain an audience. This includes those working in film, TV, animation, games and immersive media, tech platforms with a narrative focus; and where the content is consumed on screen. Description

DCMS has announced continued support for the UK Games Fund as part of a joint plan between Government and industry to drive growth, build talent and develop skills across the creative sectors. This funding will offer £50,000 – £150,000 commercial games-for-entertainment content grants. Funding being required to support a mix of existing and/or new employees, alongside a lesser proportion of contracting, and a clear explanation of the development approach in terms of the planned physical location/s of work in the UK and access to talent. Prototype in place, IP owned by the applicant or licensed on terms that are aligned with the project’s long- term requirements. Your project must not include gambling elements or mechanisms which could be perceived as such.

Criteria:

UK registered SME with PAYE employees engaged in games development work in the UK. Prior founder(s) track record having taken games through to completion and shipping. Overall project costs at least double the requested grant, and strong additionality case, with our funding making a demonstrable difference
